The Center for Literacy provided basic job and leadership skills to nearly 400 teens this summer. Our Teen Nutrition Aide Program trained 365 teens to facilitate nutrition and fitness activities to Head Start children throughout Chicago. Likewise, the UIC Safe Summer Project trained 20 teens to facilitate fun peace-keeping and conflict resolution activities to Head Start children.
Program finales took place on August 9th and 16th to celebrate all of the teens’ great work. Thank you to the Chicago Housing Authority, Chicago Department of Family and Support Services and Jason’s Deli for their support.
