The Financial Literacy Initiative for Parents (FLIP) program, the FLAME Family Literacy Program, and our new Parent Education and Employment Readiness (PEER) program have been combined into the Parent Outreach Programs. Merging these programs allows the Parent Outreach Programs Office our office to more efficiently serve Head Start sites and parents.
Through the Parent Outreach Office, parents will be able to participate in free workshops at Head Start centers on the following topics:
- FLIP: Financial Literacy Initiative for Parents – providing resources and information during these challenging economic times on budgeting, bank accounts, spending choices, and more.
- FLAME: Family Literacy Aprendiendo, Mejorando, Educando – conducting family literacy trainings for parents interested in learning more about supporting their children’s literacy development.
- DRD: Dads Reading Daily with Devotion – involving fathers and father figures in children’s literacy.
- PEER: Parent Education & Employment Readiness – helping parents as they prepare for work or school with job interviews, writing cover letters and resumes, and education planning.
