A person to notice: Barbara A. Travis
Barbara A. Travis is an Office Support Specialist with almost twenty years of clerical and customer service, intake processing, and event coordination at UIC.
Barbara is a known for her empathic and kind spirit. Barbara believes that expert customer service and time management allow her to excel in her day to day tasks.
Barbara also lends her time as a Recovery Support Staff at St. Martin De Porres House of Hope Women’s Shelter.
During her free time, you can find Barbara enjoying her role of “Grandma” and chilling with friends at House music events or attending a community storytelling event.
Barbara works at FAST South. She is usually the initial contact person for learners. She manages program schedules, enters data, orders supplies, manages the phone, creates promotional materials, and many other documents and more.
She is the model of progressive professionalism. Barbara personifies hospitality. She is an example for us all. If you want to feel at home, walk into the door at South.
We continue to learn from persons like Barbara. Sometimes we have a living master class in our midst and we may not notice. We have so many people sharing the best of themselves.
