Literacy Volunteers of Illinois & their On the Road to Literacy Conference

On Saturday 4/21, UIC hosted its long-time partner Literacy Volunteers of Illinois & their On the Road to Literacy Conference. Close to 200 people attended the event at the College of Education. Tutors, Adult Learners, and Educators had the opportunity to attend over 20 workshops that explored: strategies, techniques, and materials to use to build skills such as vocabulary, pronunciation, conversation, comprehension, reading, and writing.

 

Resource tables were available for participants to learn about CFL Services, New Readers Press materials, Secretary of State information & the opportunity for a mini health screening courtesy of The National Life Volunteering Society (NLVS) Free Health Clinic (Medical Students from RUSH, Northwestern, Loyola, and UIC )
