The STRUGGLE we’re in TODAY is developing the STRENGTH we need for TOMORROW!
Twenty students have enrolled in remote learning in the Adult Education & Career Transition Program at FAST West and South. The English High School Equivalency (HSE) classes started on 9-14-20. We appreciate the resilience of the staff and students in making our remote learning successful. It’s a team effort. Shilanda Hall spearheaded a group to begin the remote enrollment process and led three events this summer to support and enroll community members, Vipul Dhariwal prepares, maintains, and trouble-shoots the remote learning devices, Chivon Multrie designed our remote learning registration form, Megan Wells collaborated on best practices in the enrollment process, Barbara Travis and Gwen Holmes enrolled and tested students remotely, April Andry Rah’man designed our Adult Education Webpage so staff and students can access remote learning platforms, and Fantazia Berry teaches the Digital Literacy Class to help students navigate our learning platforms for HSE classes, Transitions, and Social Entrepreneurial workshops, and increase their digital literacy skills.
Pictured from top to bottom above is a breakout afternoon tutoring session led by our gifted Reading Language Arts Instructors, Kori McCullough, and Shandra Allen, with our resilient High School Equivalency students, Shantale, Dwayne, and Jeanette
Although it was a struggle, we thank everyone, students and UIC staff alike, who made our entry into remote learning smoother this Fall.
